The figures in this guide come from the BRIDGES programme page, updated in October 2026. I did not find any state tariff in official sources: the Nationality Law does not set an amount. So please read every number below as the announced price of a direction that is still being prepared.

The main figures

ItemAmountNote
Investment contribution$90,000main applicant, paid in stages
Stage 1, personal data check$5,000 netone week, remote
All-in estimatefrom $95,000one person in the application

How the payments are staged

BRIDGES writes that the work is paid as you go through the stages. The first one is the personal data check, $5,000 net and about one week of work. After it, you know whether your case goes further. If it does not, the work stops at stage 1. The full set of stages, the budget and the payment schedule, including the order of payment of the $90,000, are fixed in the agreement. No large payments are made before it is signed.

The all-in estimate

The page shows a figure “from $95,000” for one person. In my reading it combines the $90,000 contribution and the $5,000 stage 1. The page also says that translations, apostilles, notarisation and the further stages are calculated separately. So the real budget for one person will be higher than $95,000, and I would ask for the full estimate before signing.

The family

BRIDGES confirms that the spouse and children are included in one application, but it does not publish how much each family member adds. Rates for the spouse and children are confirmed in writing. The age limits for children are set when the budget is calculated, and the right to include other dependants is confirmed before filing. See the family guide.

Comparison with similar programmes

BRIDGES places Guinea-Bissau next to three other programmes:

ProgrammeContribution from
Guinea-Bissau$90,000
Nauru$90,000
São Tomé and Príncipe$90,000
Vanuatu$130,000

The price looks the same as Nauru and São Tomé and Príncipe, but the comparison table on the same page shows that Guinea-Bissau does not give visa-free access to the Schengen area. The difference is in the passport and in how established the programme is, not in the price.

Questions I would ask before paying

  • Who receives the $90,000 and on what legal basis?
  • What exactly does the agreement include, and what is billed separately?
  • What happens to the payments if the decree is not issued?
  • How much does each family member add?

The answers should be in the agreement, in writing. The process guide explains at which stage each of these documents appears.

Questions and answers

What is the $90,000?

BRIDGES describes it as the investment contribution for the main applicant, paid in stages. It is not a tariff published by the Government of Guinea-Bissau.

What does stage 1 cost?

$5,000 net for the personal data check, which takes one week.

What does a family pay?

BRIDGES does not publish family rates. They are confirmed in writing for the composition of your family.

What is not included?

Translations, apostilles, notarisation and the later stages are calculated separately.
